The Castor with an inter-row is the ideal machine in the case of large distances between rows that require double passage. The inter-row allows for cutting the grass between the stumps and also allows for cutting variability. The inter-row blades can also be replaced by a shoot-removing unit, which allows, especially in vineyards, optimal cleaning of the row, with very high forward speed, without damaging the bark of the plant.
Since Hermes began producing the Castor with inter-row, our customers have immediately appreciated the functionality of our system. Unlike what many other manufacturers do, the movement is sent back to the inter-row blade by means of a belt, in such a way as to avoid any direct blow to the hydraulic motor with consequent overheating of the oil. The cast iron pump unit (on some models), a generously sized hydraulic oil tank (combined with a cooling radiator), a three-way valve (which allows the inter-row to be excluded) are the main components of the autonomous system mounted on our Castor, making it optimal for any use.
The inter-row blade, supplied with the Castor, can have a diameter of 45 cm or 55 cm to adapt to mowing grass with even very narrow inter-row distances. To meet the needs of winemakers, we can also equip the machine with the shoot remover for perfect and fast cleaning on the row.
This machine is of particular interest today, as many people need to control the grass on the row with mechanical systems.
Castor Chianti built for particularly heavy-duty uses. The thicker frame group, a heavier hammer (1.85 kg), all combined with an adequate rotor group, allow the use of this machine even in very difficult situations, where a traditional shredder would not be usable.
